As a Product Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our Amplitude analytics setup across web and mobile platforms. You will ensure event tracking accuracy, data transformation, and seamless integration with our data warehouse, enabling data-driven product decisions.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to empower stakeholders with actionable insights, dashboards, and self-serve analytics while maintaining data governance and integrity. This role is perfect for a data-driven problem solver who enjoys building scalable analytics solutions and driving product growth through insights.

1. Amplitude Implementation & Product Analytics:

  • Lead the end-to-end setup, configuration, and maintenance of Amplitude for web, iOS, and Android platforms.
  • Design and implement event tracking schemas, ensuring consistency and data accuracy across platforms.
  • Develop funnels, retention analyses, cohort analyses, and A/B testing frameworks in Amplitude to guide product growth.

2. Data Pipeline & Integration:

  • Integrate Amplitude event data with our data warehouse (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake) and dbt transformations.
  • Work with data engineers to maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and accuracy by implementing best practices for event tracking and metadata management.

3. Data Transformation & Modeling:

  • Develop SQL-based transformations (dbt) to structure raw event data for analytics and BI reporting.
  • Optimize query performance and data storage in Amplitude and the data warehouse.
  • Build data models that empower product managers and business teams to conduct self-serve analytics.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Training:

  • Partner with Product Managers to define KPIs and establish actionable dashboards and reports.
  • Train stakeholders on Amplitude’s features, AI insights, and self-serve capabilities.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment between engineering, marketing, and analytics teams.

5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay up to date with Amplitude’s latest features and analytics best practices.
  • Contribute to automating reporting processes to reduce manual efforts.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Amplitude Expertise – Deep understanding of event tracking, funnels, cohorts, and retention analysis.
  • Understanding of product metrics (CAC, LTV, churn, retention, activation, engagement).
  • SQL Proficiency – Strong experience with writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Data Transformation Tools – Experience with dbt (data build tool).
  • Data Warehousing – Familiarity with BigQuery, Redshift, or Amazon S3.
  • BI & Reporting Tools – Experience with Tableau, Metabase.
  • Data Governance – Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and documentation.
  • Stakeholder Communication – Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Python for data automation and scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with AI/ML-based analytics tools.
  • ETL/ELT Pipelines – Experience with Airflow, Fivetran, Stitch, or Prefect
